Welcome to the reallyloud website.

What is all this?
I’ve been taking photos since I was a teenager, following the gift of a Kodak Camera. I have always been fascinated by cars, having developed an interest from a young age. As my confidence grew, I started using a Canon SLR and have stuck with the brand ever since.

Whats the point?
Capturing the cars on film started off a personal collection, which I would I use to to draw.

You like cars then.
Yes, there’s over 25 years worth and around 10,000+ images on this site.

Whats reallyloud?
I don’t know. Seemed like a good idea for domain name.

What are expecting from all this?
Nothing. I have hundreds perhaps Gigabytes of car photos and hundreds of 35mm prints. Seemed silly for them to stay on my hard drive doing nothing.

Digital? That’s not real photography
Nonsense. I do have a lot of 35mm stuff on here too. I used a Canon AE1 and EOS500N for the 90’s shots, followed by a succession of Fuji digital Camera’s. I use a Canon 40D, 7D mkII and Fuji X100 for the shots taken over the last 10 years.

Ok, Wrap it up.
Have a look around and feel free to distribute, link and share. But please keep my website water mark on it.

There are approximately 10,000 photographs of older, classic and retro cars taken by myself over a twenty five year span. The vast majority of shots are cars dating from the 1950’s up to the early 1990’s. Each section is covered by categories, the main section is car photographs, which alphabetically covers car manufacturers. It is not really supposed to be an exhaustive list of surviving cars, but simply a social history of car shows, random sightings on the streets and motor racing events in the UK taken on various digital cameras.

A regular source of interest comes from scrapyard photographs, end of life cars mingle with classics. Changing legislation’s and security concerns have meant its harder to wonder into yards with a camera these days. I plan to split the scrapyard images into 3 sections – the first section simply is a snapshot of a car in the same vein as the normal car shots, the majority of these shots are taken in the last 15 years or so, the second batch are shots taken on 35mm film from 1992 to about 2003 and finally are more recent shots but framed with an altogether more creative aspect.

If by chance you come across your vehicle and for whatever reason you’d like me to remove the image of it, then please get in touch with me. BUT don’t get in touch with me if you want to buy cars, parts or anything silly like that. I can certainly answer questions to help but please be aware some shots may have been taken over 20 years ago (this comes up regularly when someone enquires about a scrapped car) and for the sake of security I won’t disclose where any of the car street shots where taken.
