Reliant
The first cars for full production arrived in 1953 with the Regal, with the more image enhancing line of sports cars in 1961. Both lines continued for over 30 years, offering motorists a different alternative to the norm. The 1968 arrival of the first fibreglass GT estate in the world helped Reliant sales reach 30,000 in the marques hayday. However the companys fortunes declined due to EU regulations and the last model left Tamworth in 2002, although the factory still caters for spare parts.
