Council's animal management team provide an essential service to the community.
Staff help to keep the community and animals safe by responding to, and investigating, all animal related requests.
In the 2017/2018 financial year, Council's animal management team received 8149 requests, which is about 156 requests per week.
These requests included:
• 820 reported wandering dogs (about 16 per week)
• 1519 Impounded Animals (about 29 per week)
• 987 animal nuisance complaints (about 19 per week)
• 279 barking dog complaints (about 5 per week)
• 350 Stock wandering/lost/found (about 7 per week)
• 4194 other animal incidents/collections/complaints (about 81 per week)
