President Barack Obama Baseball Game Attendance Log

President Barack Obama is the 44th President of the United States of America and his attendance at Major League ballgames, including first pitches, is documented below.

"The central theme of the 2009 All-Star Game is community service, celebrating the extraordinary work being done by ordinary people. We are thrilled that we can come together with President Obama, who has encouraged a renewed spirit of national service, and illustrate a call to action in our communities. President Obama will continue a great tradition that joins our nation's leader and the national pastime." - Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig on ESPN.com (06/24/2009, 'President Obama to kick off 2009 ASG')

President Barack Obama Baseball Game Attendance Log

Did you know that President Barack Obama was the fifth President to throw out the first pitch at an All-Star? The Presidents who came before him were: John F. Kennedy (1962 All-Star Game), Richard Nixon (1970 All-Star Game), Gerald Ford (1976 All-Star Game) and George H. Bush (1992 All-Star Game).

When President Barack Obama was still a U.S. Senator, he threw out the first pitch before the White Sox defeated the Angels 2-1 in Game 2 of the 2005 A.L.C.S.

When President Barack Obama watched the Tampa Bay vs the Cuban National Team in Havana Cuba, he became the first sitting president to visit Cuba since 1928. He said in the press conference, "Americans and Cubans share a love of baseball, and this is yet another powerful reminder of the kinship between our peoples as well as the progress we can achieve when we leverage those natural ties."

The Class A Brooklyn Cyclones officially renamed themselves the Baracklyn Cyclones on June 23, 2009 as a tribute to President Obama.
