Policy

The Physiological Society’s policy team exists to represent the interests of our Members and the wider scientific community to government and policymakers. We also inform Members and the public on the nature and effects of the policy environment for science. This is an ongoing, multilateral conversation requiring wide collaboration.

Our work aims to identify and act upon issues that are of importance to our Members and to physiology as a discipline. We engage with a number of stakeholders, both within and outside of Government, and with policymakers, to promote physiology within science, and the sensible development of research and education policy generally. To explore our current and past policy work in more detail, please use the links below.

Policy work at The Society is directed by the Policy and Communications Committee, chaired by Lucy Donaldson. The full-time policy team comprises a Head of Policy & Communications, and a Policy & Public Affairs Officer.
