Events

The Society holds a number of conferences throughout the year which attract an international audience. Our events offer a great opportunity to present and develop your own research and network with other physiologists. Our meetings cover a broad range of themes and topics and are available to Members and non-members of The Society at all stages in their career. Our aim is to produce a modern, cutting-edge and friendly environment for uninhibited scientific exchange.

Our calendar of events includes:

  • Physiology, our annual main meeting covering all Themes in physiology
  • Topic Meetings, smaller events giving the physiological perspective on a variety of topics
  • Satellite symposia, one day symposium around our annual conference

The Society also awards a number of Prize Lectures each year, which play an important role in advancing and promoting the physiological sciences. See Prize Lecture recipients from 1960 to 2017.

We are continually seeking suggestions for topical and high-impact symposia, please email events@physoc.org for details.

The Society is committed to increasing equality and diversity in the physiological sciences. Our work in this area permeates throughout all of our activities, organisers will be asked to commit to an aspirational target of 50% female representation of speakers, with a compulsory minimum of 33%. We will continue to work towards fair geographical balance as well as fair representation of both junior and senior research scientists.
