Arctic

The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is one of the largest remaining intact ecosystems in the world. It has sustained the Gwich’in people for centuries, which is why they call it “The Sacred Place Where Life Begins.” This majestic landscape — comprising rugged mountains, spectacular boreal forests, sweeping vistas, and wild rivers — is also home to an incredible array of wildlife, including caribou, wolves, polar bears, and nearly 200 species of migratory birds.

But now this wild place is under threat like never before because of the Trump administration and Big Polluter allies in Congress. But for decades LCV has successfully beat back attempts by Big Oil to drill in the Arctic Refuge — and we’ll never stop fighting to defend the Arctic.
