French designer Adeline André was taught as a young student by Surrealist painter Salvador Dali and then assisted at Christian Dior couture before founding her namesake line in 1981. André, known for her patented three-armhole design which wraps around the body like a buttonless lab coat, defines her collection with slender silhouettes, fluid, bias-cut materials like silk crêpe and satin, and a stark, minimalist style.
