    If you are a visually impaired voter wishing to vote in secret you can ask the presiding officer at your polling station to attach a ballot paper template to your ballot paper. Raised numbering and braille on the template guides you to the relevant openings that correspond to the candidates on the ballot paper.

    You can familiarise yourself with the candidates on the ballot paper by contacting Freephone 1800 88 55 00 as often as you wish in advance of polling day. You can also use your mobile phone in the polling station on polling day to access this information.

    New Electoral Portal Voter.ie Launched in the Dublin Region

    Voters can check if they are eligible to vote in the upcoming European and Local elections that are taking place on Friday, 24th May, by entering their full name and address or Eircode on the Voter.ie website.

    Voter.ie is a joint initiative involving the four Dublin local authorities. It was developed to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the Register of Electors and allow for online registration.

  • The Dublin City Neighbourhoods Competition is an annual competition for communities, schools and businesses in the city organised by Dublin City Council. It is an Area based competition with categories judged initially on an Area basis. The best entrants from each of the 5 City Council administrative Areas are selected to go forward to a citywide competition.

    Applications are invited under the following categories: Residential competition, special categories, business competition, schools competition. The prize fund for this competition amounts to €75,000.

  • Launch of Co-Cup Deposit and Return Scheme in Dublin

    Dublin City Council in collaboration with Dublin City University, Trinity College Dublin and 2GoCup Ltd. launched the pilot Co-Cup Deposit and Return Scheme in the City Council’s Civic Offices, Wood Quay on Monday, 8th April 2019. 

    Under the pilot scheme when someone purchases a tea/ coffee, there is an additional charge of €1 – a deposit for the cup and when they return their cup they get their €1 back. A lid can also be purchased for €1, which can be kept and re-used.

Phase Two of Smart Dublin’s Last Mile Delivery Challenge launches

Dublin City Council and Belfast City Council, in partnership with Enterprise Ireland’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Programme, announced today that five companies have successfully secured phase two contracts with funding of €160k to pilot new solutions that address the challenge of last mile deliveries in both Dublin and Belfast.
