Gather your brunch bunch, a new festival is preparing to take over downtown San Antonio this fall.

The inaugural San Antonio Brunch Festival will be hosted at Smoke in St. Paul Square on Sept. 28.

All Access Promotions and Entertainment is working with Smoke Owner Adrian Martinez to bring in a group of restaurants from the city's brunch scene for the event, founder and creator Mike Anthony Torres said to mySA.com. Restaurant registration and ticket information will be available on July 13.

Along with having food on hand for guests, the participating restaurants will also have a "friendly" brunch battle for bragging rights. Winners will take the titles of "Best Pancakes, "Best Chicken and Waffles," "Best Omelette," "Best Breakfast Taco" and more.

Torres said the voting will be decided by a panel of judges and will include a "People's Choice" section as well.

The all-ages event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
