(ECNS) -- The Jiming Sansheng Bridge opened to traffic in Southwest China on Tuesday.
It spans a large valley separating the provinces of Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou.
The bridge is 286.4 meters long and 11.5 meters wide.
It makes transportation easier for residents of 12 townships in eight counties.
Jiming in Chinese means "the rooster crows".縲
The area bordering the provinces is named Jiming Sansheng Jiaojie, the sound of crowing roosters audible for miles around.
