The USA has overtaken Mainland China and is now the country with the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases worldwide. To date, 81,943 Americans have tested positive for Covid-19. A total of 1,173 Americans have already died from the rapidly spreading virus. Current figures from the individual US states show that the US has overtaken the 81,285 coronavirus cases reported by China, with the largest outbreaks occurring in New York, California and New Jersey. Following is the situation update as of March 26, 2020.

Coronavirus in Europe: Update - March 26, 2020
European coronavirus infections have passed 260,000. According to the WHO World Health Organisation, the epicentre of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) is still in Europe, where there are now more deaths than in the rest of the world. The number of infected and dead people is currently doubling every five to six days in most European countries. Most of the 32 European countries presented in this study are under a state of emergency with curfews and border controls. There is also a lack of doctors, lung respiratory equipment and hospital beds. Following the situation update for the European Union, EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland, as of March 26, 2020.

It identifies the most and least peaceful countries, trends in violence and conflict, and calculates the economic impact of violence. The top three most peaceful countries are Iceland, Denmark and Austria. Small and stable democracies make up the top ten most peaceful countries. New Zealand, Canada and Japan are the only non-European countries in the top ten.
