    If anybody's going to take on Apple CPUs, then it's going to be ex-Apple engineers; Keep an eye on this in the next years. I wonder if their business model will be just silicon or also IP.

    The first US 4G launches were at the end of 2010. The first 4G iPhone was the iPhone 5, in late 2012. Apple has over 60% of the US smartphone market today.

    Imagine believing that launching a 5G phone next year is late.

    This would support a 2020 iPhone launch. Compared to N7/N7P in the A12 and A13, performance or power should improve near 20-30%, and density should be over 50% better.

    This is unfortunate as Anandtech’s deep dives afford us details such as cache sizes, latencies, execution/dispatch capabilities, and energy efficiency per operation.

    iOS13 performance counters still broken as of latest Xcode & iOS13.1 ... doesn't fare too well for the review article in terms of µarch investigation.
