Super Mario Odyssey - Nintendo Switch
$59.99on GamestopWhen Did We Last See Super Mario Odyssey?
The last time we saw Super Mario Odyssey was at the Nintendo Switch presentation on January 13, where it was announced for the Nintendo Switch, with a release date window of “Holiday 2017."
Why We're Hyped for Super Mario Odyssey
Mario’s creator, Shigeru Miyamoto, called Super Mario Odyssey “something a little bit more on the core side” and said it would “go back to the roots” of 3D Mario, which is enough for me. It’s set to feature more open-ended exploration like in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine, taking Mario through “an unknown world”. We’ve already seen (and made fun of) New Donk City - a sort of Donkey Kong themed New York that’s populated with humans for the first time in a Mario game - as well as an eclectic bunch of completely different 3D locations, including a forest full of mechanical teapots, or something. It looks big, beautiful, colourful and totally varied, and paired with classic 3D Mario gameplay, it looks like it’ll make a great addition to the Nintendo Switch. Also, Mario’s hat has eyes now. What’s up with that?
Will Super Mario Odyssey Be at E3 2017?
100% - Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime told IGN that the game will be playable at E3. Nintendo actually considered having it playable at their Switch reveal events back in January, but decided to go all-in on E3 instead.
