The Nobel Prize outreach activities

Over the years, the Nobel Prize's organisational structure has developed and expanded, with a variety of networks and institutions established that are tasked with inspiring and spreading knowledge about the Nobel Prize through various public activities, exhibitions, meetings, events and digital publishing.

These externally financed entities have the primary task of disseminating information about the Nobel Prize and engaging and inspiring people around the world through the stories of the Nobel Laureates. The entities include: Nobel Media and the Nobel Prize Museum, all located in Stockholm, as well as the Nobel Peace Prize, the Research & Information AS and the Nobel Peace Center Foundation, all located in Oslo.

These organisations are all externally funded, for example through entrance fees, contributions from governmental or local authorities, education organisations, philanthropic organisations, or through partnerships with companies. These companies have no influence over, or access to, the nomination or selection procedures of the Nobel Prizes. Only after the public announcement of the Nobel Laureates can these organisations begin spreading information about each year’s laureates and their remarkable discoveries.
