New GCSEs website

web.jpg

new campaign page by the Department for Education (DfE) provides explanations of the new GCSE grading system and other information about the reforms. It answers questions such as the following:

  • Why are GCSEs in England changing?
  • When are they changing?
  • Why is the grading scale changing?
  • What will be the impact on grades?
  • What is considered a “standard” or “strong” pass?

The site also directs users to fact sheets for parents, employers, further and higher education institutions - for example, a fact sheet explainer that the DfE notes may be useful at parents evenings.
