November 3, 2020, we celebrate the 90th Birthday of a great numismatist, Stanley J. Serxner. Stanley is Charter Member #24C of the International Bank Note Society (IBNS) of which there are only 5 active members remaining. He is also co-founder of the North Carolina Chapter #26 of IBNS. 

This  new chapter of the International Bank  Note Society  was  formed  on 27.3.2014 in the USA state of North Carolina under the leadership of Austin Mattox, Vice President of Mattox Coins & Stamps. Membership is currently free and is not limited to IBNS members. The chapter would particularly like to encourage world exploration, as seen from the unique perspective of paper money.

Meetings are held monthly in the Triangle Area of NC  but interested parties from other areas may also join. Contact us for additional info.

For the last few years we have enjoyed doing Birthday banknote "designs" based on places Stanley and his lovely wife Joyce have lived or places where they have spent time. Stanley and I were both born in the great borough of The Bronx in New York City and have had the great pleasure of learning about the world through banknotes, living and personal visits abroad.

We thank the many contributors who have sent images for use on this site. Unfortunately, we still have many images from our standard image inventory that are waiting to be added to Numismondo. 

In the past we have tried to emphasize adding rare or unusual banknotes to this site as there other sites that contain lots of recent and current banknotes. Numismondo was started almost 20 years ago and it has been a great learning experience for me. I have also developed many nice friends over the years and only a very few overly particular ones who have mutually agreed to no longer participate.

While I still love numismatics, as an octogenarian, some priorities are different than maintaining a non-commercial collector website. So if you have a particular important image you think would add significantly to this site, please let us know and we will get it up for you. Thanks!
