Weddings in our Historic Church
The Plains Vintage Railway & Historical Museum can provide you and your family with a truely heritage wedding experience, right in our own grounds!
Nestled amongst the other heritage buildings in our village is our cozy historic church, of the former small Mid-Canterbury township of Waterton, perfect for adding that heritage flavour to your special day, and for adding that touch of days gone by to your wedding photos!
After the service, why not let your friends and family be entertained by the staff and crew of our heritage railway, complete with steam locomotive while you sit back and relax with a glass of bubbly...

Our Function Room
The function room at The Plains Railway & Historical Museum is a true multi-purpose room. It's been used for wedding breakfasts, birthday parties, christmas functions, meetings, morning and afternoon teas and even meals.
The Function Room has its own kitchen area and toilets and as a large open space it is ideal for whatever you want to use it for.

Train Hire
Our Heritage Railway, complete with either our Vintage Railcar or any of our Steam Locomotives are also available for hire, see our Charters & Tour Groups page for more information on Train Hire and make sure to mention it in your message to us.
If you just want the one of our locomotives for photos, we can arrange this. Just let us know which of our locomotives you want on display.
