Fire breaks out at liquor shop on GCR, no one hurt

Imported liquor worth at least ?5 crore was destroyed in a fire at an upscale wine shop in Gurugram. The fire spread quickly due to the highly-inflammable alcohol, and it took over two hours and 24 firefighters to douse the flames. The cause of the fire is believed to be a short-circuit in the refrigeration units or air-conditioning system, according to the owner of the shop. This is the second fire incident on the Golf Course Road in the last three days.

Residents of Ramprastha City in Sector 37D held a protest against the developer for inadequate supply of water. They alleged that recycled water supplied by sewage treatment plants was of poor quality and almost unusable. Fake chemo drug racket: Police record statement of arrested Turk

A Turkish national was arrested in Mumbai for allegedly supplying fake chemo injections to cancer patients for ?2.5 lakh per injection. The accused allegedly told police that he used to visit India twice a month and used to bring with him fake injections that were sufficient to cheat intended victims of at least ?1 crore. The police have arrested several individuals involved in the trade and have recovered fake injections of defibrotide, a drug used in cancer treatment. The suspects have revealed the entire chain of individuals involved in the trade.

MCG plans drainage system around Bandhwari to stop leachate spill

The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram is planning to build a drainage system around the Bandhwari landfill to prevent leachate from contaminating waterbodies and the protected Aravallis range. The decision comes after a waterbody was polluted by leachate leak from the landfill. The landfill contains over 3.6 million tonnes of legacy waste waiting to be processed. The MCG was fined INR100 crore ($13.5m) by the National Green Tribunal for failing to manage the landfill.
