Dewar (shoulder) inked a one-year, $1.18 million contract with Toronto on Tuesday.

Dewar suited up in 17 regular-season contests for the Leafs in 2023-24 after he was acquired via trade. In those outings, the 25-year-old center notched one goal, four assists and 20 shots while averaging 12:54 of ice time. Although the Manitoba native is expected to recover in time for training camp from his shoulder injury, he probably won't offer more than mid-range fantasy value, at best, given his lack of power-play minutes and bottom-six role.

Czarnik signed a one-year contract with SC Bern of Switzerland's National League on Saturday.

Czarnik produced 10 goals and 28 points in 38 regular-season contests for AHL Grand Rapids in 2023-24. He added four tallies and four helpers in nine playoff outings. The 31-year-old forward also had one assist and 24 shots on goal in 34 regular-season appearances with the Red Wings during the 2023-24 campaign.

Veleno signed a two-year, $4.55 million contract with the Red Wings on Friday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Veleno was a restricted free agent coming off a one-year, $825,000 contract. He had 12 goals and 28 points in 80 contests last season. The 24-year-old is likely to start the 2024-25 campaign in a bottom-six role, but he does have some upside.

Drury signed a two-year, $3.45 million contract with the Hurricanes on Wednesday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Drury was a restricted free agent after completing his entry-level contract. He had eight goals, 27 points and 33 PIM in 74 regular-season contests with Carolina in 2023-24. Drury is likely to open the upcoming season as a member of the third line.

Kuznetsov was put on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract, the Hurricanes announced Wednesday.

Kuznetsov had one season remaining on his eight-year, $62.4 million contract. When an NHL agreement is mutually terminated rather than bought out, the remaining cap hit and salary are erased from the books, which will save each of Carolina and Washington $3.9 million for the 2024-25 campaign. Kuznetsov struggled in 2023-24, finishing the regular season with eight goals and 24 points across 63 contests. He's likely to join the KHL's SKA St. Petersburg.

McLaughlin signed a one-year, two-way contract with Boston on Tuesday.

McLaughlin produced eight goals and 14 points in 68 regular-season games for AHL Providence in 2023-24. He scored one goal in his lone NHL regular-season appearance with Boston last campaign. McLaughlin will likely spend most, if not all, of 2024-25 in the minors.

Clarke signed a one-year, two-way contract with Minnesota on Tuesday.

Clarke made his NHL debut with the Devils last season, logging three NHL games in which he notched six hits, two shots and zero points. While the 23-year-old winger didn't contribute much offensively at the NHL level, he did produce in the minors with 49 points in 67 outings with AHL Utica. Given his two-way deal, Clarke figures to split his time between levels next year, which will limit his overall fantasy value.

Malenstyn and the Sabres agreed to terms on a two-year, $2.7 million contract Tuesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Malenstyn was brought in via trade by Buffalo from Washington before the 2024 NHL Draft but needed to agree to new terms as a restricted free agent. Last season, the 26-year-old natural center saw action in 81 games for the Caps in which he generated six goals and 15 assists, all career bests. He figures to slot into a bottom-six role for the Sabres this year and likely has a ceiling in the 25-30-point range.

Sprong signed a one-year, $975,000 contract with Vancouver on Saturday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Sprong generated 18 goals and 43 points in 76 regular-season outings for Detroit in 2023-24. As a member of the Canucks in a bottom-six role, he should register similar numbers in the upcoming campaign. Sprong also could see playing time on the second power-play unit.

Comtois signed a contract with Dynamo Moscow of the KHL on Thursday.

No terms were announced. The 25-year-old forward spent his first five seasons with the Ducks before playing one game at the NHL level in 2023-24 with Carolina. Comtois spent most of 2023-24 in the AHL, picking up 19 goals and 25 assists in 65 regular-season appearances with Chicago. Comtois played 211 regular-season NHL games, scoring 38 goals and adding 49 assists. The feisty winger is young enough that he could eventually return to the NHL after his stint overseas.

Holmstrom signed a one-year, $850,000 contract with the Islanders on Tuesday, per PuckPedia.

Holmstrom and the Islanders were able to work out a deal outside of his qualifying offer, which would have paid him marginally more. That would have been a two-way agreement, but the contract Holmstrom penned instead is a one-way deal, which suggests the team has faith in the winger spending most of the year in the NHL. He produced 25 points over 75 regular-season outings in 2023-24, playing mainly in a middle-six role, though he also shot 20.8 percent, which makes him a candidate for regression.

Beckman signed a one-year, two-way contract with New Jersey on Monday.

Beckman notched 19 goals and 33 points in 51 regular-season outings for AHL Iowa in 2023-24. He also had two assists, 10 shots on goal and 13 hits in 11 NHL appearances with Minnesota this past campaign. The Wild traded Beckman to the Devils on June 21 in exchange for Graeme Clarke. The 23-year-old Beckman will likely start 2024-25 in the minors.

Hatakka signed a one-year, two-way contract with New Jersey on Monday.

Hatakka notched five goals and 20 points in 48 regular-season appearances with AHL Utica in 2023-24. He also contributed two assists, 12 shots on goal, 12 blocked shots and 14 hits in 12 NHL outings with the Devils last campaign. The 23-year-old defender will battle for a depth spot during New Jersey's training camp but may spend most of 2024-25 in the minors.

Krug was diagnosed with pre-arthritic changes in his left ankle and will be evaluated in 6-8 weeks.

That timeline puts Krug's next check-up at just before training camp. If his ankle gets worse, surgery is on the table, which would cost him the entire 2024-25 campaign. As is, it's likely the defenseman misses at least some time early in the season since his offseason ramp-up will be disrupted. If Krug misses the year, it could lead to a full-time role for Pierre-Olivier Joseph on the third pairing, while Scott Perunovich and Justin Faulk would figure to get the most additional power-play time.

LaCombe signed a two-year, $1.85 million contract with Anaheim on Monday.

LaCombe accounted for two goals, 17 points, 55 shots on net, 129 blocked shots and 50 hits in 71 regular-season contests with the Ducks in 2023-24. His roster spot isn't a certainty for the upcoming campaign, but he will be in the mix for a depth position on the blue line during training camp.

Heinola signed a two-year, $1.6 million contract with Winnipeg on Monday.

Heinola accumulated 10 goals and 27 points in 41 regular-season appearances with AHL Manitoba in 2023-24. He also had two assists in two playoff outings. Heinola has provided one goal and 10 helpers in 35 career NHL contests. The 23-year-old defenseman will compete for a spot on Winnipeg's bottom pairing at training camp.

Robertson signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Rangers on Monday.

Robertson registered four goals and 21 points in 68 regular-season contests for AHL Hartford in 2023-24. He also chipped in one assist in 10 playoff outings. The 23-year-old defender doesn't have any NHL experience yet. Robertson will probably spend most, if not all, of the 2024-25 campaign in the minors.

Schneider signed a two-year, $4.4 million contract with the Rangers on Saturday, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.

It'll be a bridge deal, carrying an AAV of $2.2 million, for the 22-year-old Schneider after he posted five goals, 19 points and a minus-1 rating while playing in all 82 games last season. Schneider has emerged as a steady third-pairing blueliner in New York, and he could be in line for a larger role in the 2024-25 campaign.

Mandolese signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Avalanche on Tuesday.

Mandolese's rights were acquired from Ottawa on Monday, and it didn't take Colorado long to get the 23-year-old goalie under contract. Mandolese is likely to spend most of 2024-25 with AHL Colorado, though he has three games of NHL experience and could see some time with the big club if Alexandar Georgiev or Justus Annunen are sidelined at any point.

Silovs signed a two-year, $1.7 million contract with Vancouver on Tuesday.

Silovs posted a 3-0-1 record with a 2.47 GAA and an .881 save percentage in four regular-season appearances with the Canucks in 2023-24. He also went 5-5 in the playoffs with a 2.91 GAA and an .898 save percentage in 10 outings. Silovs will likely begin the 2024-25 campaign as Thatcher Demko's (knee) backup.

Colorado acquired Mandolese and a 2026 seventh-round pick from Ottawa on Monday in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round selection.

Mandolese posted a 10-9-2 record with a 3.07 GAA and a .901 save percentage across 23 regular-season appearances for AHL Belleville in 2023-24. He also went 0-2-0 with a 3.53 GAA and a .918 save percentage in two outings with ECHL Allen. With Alexandar Georgiev and Justus Annunen poised to occupy the top-two goaltending spots with the Avalanche in 2024-25, Mandolese will likely start the season in the minors.

Sogaard signed a two-year, $1.55 million contract with Ottawa on Monday.

Sogaard posted an 18-9-3 record with two shutouts, a 2.45 GAA and a .916 save percentage in 32 regular-season outings for AHL Belleville in 2023-24. The 23-year-old netminder also went 1-3-0 with a 4.04 GAA and an .859 save percentage in six NHL appearances with Ottawa last season. Sogaard will likely begin the upcoming season in the minors, as Linus Ullmark and Anton Forsberg are expected to open the year as the Senators' NHL goalies.

Keyser signed a one-year contract with the Kunlun Red Star of the KHL on Thursday.

Keyser shared time between the AHL and ECHL over the past five campaigns. During that span, the 25-year-old goaltender posted a 29-27-13 record with a 2.83 GAA and a .902 save percentage in 73 regular-season AHL outings for Providence. Keyser hasn't seen any NHL action yet in his career.

Greaves signed a two-year, $1.625 million contract with the Blue Jackets on Friday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Year 1 is a two-way pact, while Year 2 is a one-way agreement. Greaves will earn $800,000 during the 2024-25 campaign at the NHL level and $825,000 the following season. The 23-year-old netminder posted a record of 3-6-0 with a 3.49 GAA and a .908 save percentage in nine appearances with Columbus in 2023-24. He will battle Elvis Merzlikins and Daniil Tarasov at training camp for a roster spot, but he could start the upcoming season in the minors.
