25-Jan-2015 -- This is the last out of 6 reports, describing confluence visits in Bosnia/Herzegovina, Croatia, and Hungary. The story starts at 45°N 16°E.

Coming from 45°N 18°E, I approached this confluence via the town Đurđevac. The confluence is located above the village Sveta Ana, 7 km south-west of Đurđevac. A nice single-lane asphalt road leads to the village. I parked in front of a residential house in 180 m distance from the confluence point.

This part of Croatia had been a theatre of war in the early 90's. The area had been contaminated with mines. Therefore, I was not sure whether walking across the forest would be safe. I asked a young man in the village how it is possible to climb the hill and whether it is safe to walk. He replied that all mines had been cleared. He had nothing particular to do on this Sunday afternoon and offered to join me to the confluence point.

The hike turned out to be harder than one would expect for a distance of 150 m. The hill was steep and snow covered. But we soon hit a track and followed it. The confluence sits exactly on the ridge of this little mountain range. There is thorny undergrowth around it such that a summer visitor may find dense vegetation there.

After the visit the young man showed me his village: a so-called Turkish castle and the water-mill of Sveta Ana. He told me all the stories of his youth and I enjoyed listening to them. I was not in a hurry any more, because anyway there wasn't enough time to visit 45°N 17°E due to the coming nightfall. I drove back to Ljubljana, stayed the night there and flew back to Zurich on Monday morning – just to reach my office at work in time.
