  51°N 7°E (visit #25)

#1: Overview

(visited by Karl Bryk and Michael Bryk)

21-Sep-2015 -- This is visit number 7 in a sequence of 15 visits made while on a road trip with my son Michael.

The previous is 51N 8E.

After an early start we arrived at 51N 7E just after 10:00. As is already described in other visits, the closest legal parking place was some distance (388 metres in our case) away from the CP. Nevertheless it was an easy walk, over the railway bridge and along the railway line to the CP. We, or rather Michael, got distracted photographing trains on the way back so we did not return to the car until 11:20.

Our next target on the way to Amsterdam was 52N 6E which we tried to reach via 3 different routes but were blocked either by fences, private property, or water filled ditches. Since we did not get remotely near the CP I will not post this visit but have made a mental note to myself to read some of the successful visits and figure out how others managed to make it.

After our attempt at 52N 6E we drove to our hotel to the South-East of Amsterdam arriving in the late afternoon. The reason for our visit was to meet up with 3 of Michael's internet gaming friends who he had never met before. As it turned out they were normal, nice guys and we had a great evening eating and drinking the relatively strong beers available, especially the Belgian beers.

My evening ended at 11:30 p.m., Michael's at 2:30 a.m.. I think I made the right decision to finish when I did.

Michael didn't. More of that later.

The next is 52N 5E.
