Canadian television awards

The Gemini Awards were awards given by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television to recognize the achievements of Canada's television industry. First held in 1986 to replace the ACTRA Award, the ceremony celebrated Canadian television productions with awards in 87 categories, along with other special awards such as lifetime achievement awards.

The Canadian Screen Awards (French: Les prix Écrans canadiens) are awards given for artistic and technical merit in the film industry recognizing excellence in Canadian film, English-language television, and digital media (web series) productions. Given annually by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, the awards recognize excellence in cinematic achievements, as assessed by the Academy's voting membership.

The ACTRA Awards were first presented in 1972 to celebrate excellence in Canada's television and radio industries. Organized and presented by the Association of Canadian Television and Radio Artists, which represented performers, writers and broadcast journalists, the Nellie statuettes were presented annually until 1986. They were the primary national television award in Canada until 1986, when they were taken over by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television to create the new Gemini Awards, although ACTRA continued to present Nellies in radio categories.

The Television Critics Association (TCA) is a group of approximately 200 United States and Canadian television critics, journalists and columnists who cover television programming for newspapers, magazines and web publications. The TCA accepts applications and selects members twice per year in March and September. Once selected, all members meet at The Langham Huntington Hotel and Spa in Pasadena, California in January for the winter press tour, and at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills in July for the summer press tour. Winter press tour usually covers network midseason replacements, programs from streaming services and cable series which start in January, while the summer tour covers the new fall season for broadcast, streaming, and cable programming.

The Prix Gémeaux or Gémeaux Awards honour French Canadian achievements in Canadian television. It has been sponsored by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television since 1985.

The Directors Guild of Canada Award for Best Direction in a Family Series is a television award that honors direction in programs aimed towards children and family produced in Canada. The award has undergone various name changes since its inception in 2002.

The Spacey Awards (also referred to as The Spaceys) was an annual award presented by the Canadian cable network Space from 2003–2007. Awards were presented in the areas of sci-fi, fantasy and horror films, television series and video games. Some of the awards were voted on by the viewers choice and the others by SPACE employees.

The Golden Maple Awards are annual awards presented by the Academy of Canadians in Sports and Entertainment – Los Angeles (ACISE-LA) to Canadian actors performing in television shows broadcast in the United States. The ACISE-LA is non-profit org, with members consisting of acting and directing talent, Canadian Olympians, and Canadian athletes who play for established sports franchises. The first awards ceremony was held on July 1, 2015.

The Vancouver Web Series Festival, also known as the Vancouver Web Fest, is a web series festival based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It is known as the first ever Canadian festival dedicated solely to entertainment and programming created exclusively for the Internet.
