A religious and cultural centre, despite its famous paan, the ancient city is known for two major attractions. One would be the famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple, the temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is also called the Golden temple constructed by Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar, the Maratha Monarch, in 1780. The three domes of the temple are covered by gold, two of them were offered by Ranjeet Singh, the lion of Punjab.

The Banarasi sari is a sari made specially in the ancient city which derived its name from the city itself also known as Banaras. The saris are among the finest saris in India and are known for their gold and silver brocade or zari, fine silk, and opulent embroidery. The saree is also known as the most expensive saree having a price range reaching upto lakhs as per the work, it takes days to months in order to prepare one saree which makes it treasure among saree lovers.
