Here's another sign that fall is officially here, so prepare to layer up.

The National Weather Service issued a frost advisory for all of southeast Michigan for 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. Sunday.

The area, including metro Detroit, could see frost formation as temperatures drop into the low to mid-30s, the  weather service in White Lake Township said. Winds are expected to be "light to calm." 

The cold temperature can harm plants, and so it's best to cover them up. 

"Make sure to protect sensitive outdoor vegetation," the weather service  warns. 

A frost advisory was also issued for central, south central and southwest Michigan.
