Crossing gates and crossing keepers cottage on the York to Malton and Scarborough line. This must be one of the few crossing keepers cottages and manned crossings still in use as such on this line. Yes, the crossing gates at Kirkham are still manned, but that is from a signal box. There must be very few crossings left, where, as a user, you need to summon the crossing keeper by a bell (not by sounding your horn!) to come and open the gates for you!
