Early test train at Barn Site, the Deviation, Ffestiniog Railway

By the summer of 1971 the Deviation Spiral and the Rhoslyn Bridge were basically complete. The temptation to run 'test' trains was irresistible! The first behind 'Linda' had been run on 1st July. The second behind 'Blanche' ran on 18th July and I was fortunate to have been in the right place at the right time. Here 'Blanche' and her train have crossed Rhoslyn Bridge, where the Deviation crosses the line from Tan y Bwlch, and is standing on the embankment known as 'Barn Site'.
