Release 2024.0
Our first release for 2024 just landed. The main feature of this release is probably the introduction of the blur nodes. The FastGaussianBlur in particular allows blurring textures in real time (even on mobile devices). Its resolution independent blurriness parameter makes it suitable for creating content agnostic effects. We’re currently preparing the foundation for various masking features. The first one we’re introducing in this release is the Selector filter. This filter makes it easy to create a mask by selecting colors according to their lightness, chroma or hue. Read more -
Rename to Nope Forge
Due to the pressure from a company that trademarked a common word from the dictionary, we were forced to rename the project. Nope Foundry is now called Nope Forge. Despite the name change, our mission doesn’t change: we’re doing our best to provide a free and open source cross-platform framework for motion design, 2D composition and visual effects. The previous website now redirects here transparently, so this shouldn’t cause a lot of inconvenience. Read more -
Release 2023.4
We’re pleased to announce a new release of the Nope Forge project. It’s been only a month since the launch, but we already have a number of new features we would like to show off. The key feature of this release is probably the addition of the fractal noise, the cornerstone of any serious CGI work. By default the noise is in greyscale, but it comes with a color remapping filter which can be used to build any arbitrary gradient pattern to apply on a source. Read more -

We are officialy launching the Nope Forge project today! We aim to provide a free and open source cross-platform framework for motion design, 2D composition and visual effects.
