Schmitz takes NU ward 3 seat
NEW ULM — For the first time in 16 years, New Ulm’s third ward will have a new councilor as Tom Schmitz was elected Tuesday night with 1,201 votes. Schmitz defeated Heath Dobberpuhl, who had 663 votes. There were five write-ins. “I’m humbled by all the voter and citizen support,” Schmitz said. “I am eager to represent everyone in Ward 3, on the New Ulm city council.
