This bodes well for its opening in France, which happens this week, while it closes out its international run in Japan in October.
- The first of the localized High School Musical spin-offs, El Desafio, opened in Mexico over the weekend. There is placed first with $1.85 million on 361 screens, which was double its nearest competition and enough for 24th place internationally.

- The Strangers plummeted more than 10 spots falling to 29th place with $1.62 million on 451 screens in 9 markets for a total of $11.97 million. One last note, War, Inc. opening in Russia with $275,000 on 150 screens, which was enough for 8th place in that market. This puts it on pace to earn more in that one market than it earned domestically, however, it played in limited release here, so that it not as shocking as it sounds.
