"For me as someone who has worked in food for a number of years at other brands and retailers. Winning a Grocer Award was a pinch yourself moment, and I must admit, a career highlight!

The Grocer stands for so much in our industry, as a brand, a media outlet and also with the awards and how much all of the industry holds them in esteem.

From small start up's, to mega multi million pound brands and retailers. Everyone knows of the Grocer and the awards. I wasn't sure about entering at first, but so glad I did. We actively show off our achievement and rightly so! A definite, look mum I won a Grocer Award moment!"

"I have been developing confectionery products since I was 18. Hence to win such an award is a landmark moment for me!

This project in particular was one of my all-time favourites. Developing a chocolate bar is as much about restraint as it is expression! The shoppers’ needs must never be forgotten, else a path of elitism, self-congratulation or hubris will out, and the bar won’t sell! The shopper wants to have a fantastic time, all other objectives pale to insignificance!

I believe this is why this bar has been awarded such a humbling accolade, and I am overwhelmingly proud and honoured for Monty Bojangles to be recognised thus."
