Joe Biden's granddaughter, Naomi Biden, made history in November 2022 with her White House wedding to her Peter Neal, when she became the first bride to tie the knot on the South Lawn. Naomi and Peter didn't just wed at the White House—the two have been living with the President and First Lady Jill Biden at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue since August 2021.
In July 2024, when Joe announced he would be dropping out of the 2024 election, Naomi reacted to the news on X (formerly Twitter). She wrote, "I’m nothing but proud today of my Pop, our President, Joe Biden, who has served our country with every bit of his soul and with unmatched distinction. Not only has he been—and will continue to be—the most effective president of our lifetime, but he has likely already cemented himself as the most effective and impactful public servant in our nation’s history."
