Critical Fire Weather in Southern New England; Heavy Rain and Mountain Snow for the Northwestern U.S.

Red Flag Warnings have been reissued today for southern New England due to more critical fire weather from gusty winds and dry fuels. A lake wind advisory has been issued for Pyramid Lake for Wednesday. Wind advisories have been issued for NE California, Greater Lake Tahoe Area, and Mono County in California, as well as far western Nevada for Wednesday. Southwesterly wind gusts 40-55 mph will be possible for valleys with gusts 60+ mph for wind-prone areas. Hazardous boating conditions, strong ridge winds, travel issues for high-profile vehicles, aviation impacts, and blowing dust are expected.
A winter weather advisory is in effect for northeastern California and the Lake Tahoe region starting Wednesday and ending late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning. Plan on slow downs and delays and be prepared for a snowy and icy commute.
