Aeroflot’s new low-cost (LCC) subsidiary—Byudzhetny Perevozchik, which directly translates as Budget Carrier—has launched a website and disclosed its route network. The carrier still has no branding.
According to its website, the LCC plans to fly from Moscow to Surgut, Perm, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Samara, Kazan, Volgograd, Belgorod and Tyumen.
It will fly from Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport’s Terminal B for the IATA 2014-2015 winter schedule; however, it has not yet received its air operator’s certificate. By Feb. 28, the carrier will have to move to either Vnukovo or Domodedovo airport as Sheremetyevo begins a terminal renovation program.
The budget carrier plans to use a Boeing 737-800 in a single-class layout; its first flight date has not yet been announced.
The new LCC replaces Dobrolet, which started flights June 10, but suspended operations Aug. 4 due to sanctions imposed by the European Union. According to Aeroflot CEO Vitaly Saveliev, Aeroflot has begun to transfer the assets of the defunct carrier to Byudzhetny Perevozchik.
Saveliev said the group does not plan to transfer the Dobrolet brand to the new airline, but the aircraft livery appears to be similar to Dobrolet, according to the website.
