David Ortiz had two huge plays in the Red Sox’s win vs. the Astros on Saturday. In the ninth, he hit a game-tying triple, and then in the 11th, he hit a walk-off double.
Ortiz, playing in his 20th and final season, was showered in baby powder by his teammates upon reaching home after winning the game (it’s nice that they didn’t toss juice on him after the powder).
While that happened, his teammates pulled off his jersey, and he went and grabbed second base to take with him.
The double was his 600th and put him in an exclusive club with Hank Aaron and Barry Bonds.
Aside from his on-the-field play, Ortiz has additionally already had several memorable off-the-field moments this season. He hugged Kevin Millar’s kids in a HR celebration, he made a young fan’s dream come true, and he hung out with MVP Steph Curry.
