Richard Lawson Vanity Fair Furious 7 is respectful, even solemn, when it needs to be, but is still, thank God, plenty of crazy fun. May 10, 2019 Full Review Perri Nemiroff Collider Furious 7 is certainly a popcorn movie geared towards delivering big thrills, but it's also oozing with heart and passion. Rated: B+ May 10, 2019 Full Review Tara Brady Irish Times Director James Wan (Saw, The Conjuring) may be a dab hand at things that go bump in the night, but action is not his strong point. Rated: 2/5 May 10, 2019 Full Review Don Shanahan Every Movie Has a Lesson The last five minutes of this film might just have the toughest tough talker in the audience reaching for the tissue box. Mayhem gives way to satisfying beauty and the family did right by their fallen brother. Rated: 4/5 Oct 13, 2024 Full Review Sean Axmaker Stream on Demand ... the character is ladled on thick and the stunts are so outrageous that you either dismiss the whole thing out of hand or go with the madness and enjoy the ride. Oct 6, 2023 Full Review Brett Doze InSession Film The film features some wild stunts and really drives home the family theme that has come to dominate the series. tyrone n best movie of all time 10/10 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/10/24 Full Review Audience Member It’s officially been 10 years and at the time this was the best installment of the franchise next to parts 4 and 5 Director James Wan known mainly for horror films takes the reins for the next chapter in the successful multi billion dollar franchise raising the stakes Most of the time most movie series usually falter by 7 entries but Wan and the filmmakers still manage to make things exciting while also not forgetting to put some emotional heft behind the wheels Many of the cast members return: Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster with new ones joining like Nathalie Emmanuelle, Kurt Russell, and Jason Statham The most notable thing of course here is the tragic passing of Paul Walker but thankfully the filmmakers don’t exploit that, they were able to film a majority of his scenes and get blessings from his family as a final sendoff Picking up right after part 6 the sins of our heroes have followed them home Dom, Letty, Brian, Mia, Roman, Tej, defeated Owen Shaw but Owen’s brother, Deckard of former special forces and intelligence is out for revenge for what Dom and his team did Now they’re being hunted one by one targeted by mercenaries Their only hope is to have the help of a man named Mr. Nobody to find a tracking system called Gods Eye, a sophisticated program that can find anyone in the world via traffic cams, cell phones etc. invented by a hacker named Ramsey Mia is also worried Brian is worried missing the bullets or the excitement of being in danger if the simple life is truly for him to feel whole Letty is also haunted by a past she no longer remembers so she is struggling to be a part of the team The 7th entry is fun, fast, exciting, funny, has a very colorful rainbow of a cast, and of course it wouldn’t be anything without the high octane action and stunts thanks to Wan’s direction despite being at 2 hours and 20 minutes Of course you can make the aruguments these films still attempt to defy the laws of gravity and physics heck even the characters call out the absurdity but it’s all pure entertainment I also appreciate this time the franchise goes global to all kinds of exotic locations from the Arab Emirates to Azerbaijan Statham makes for a good bad guy but he’s humorless and not that sympathetic, Russell makes for a fun addition to the proceedings, and Emmanuelle is refreshing to have as a rare female that’s very tech savvy The movie also touches upon government surveillance, using technology to spy on citizens and track down enemies without diplomacy getting in the way, saying goodbye to our old lives, brotherhood, unselfish love for others, and the power of family whether by loyalty or revenge even though everyone looks for the thrill I won’t lie I was also on the verge of tears several times knowing this was Paul Walker’s last outing It’s got big action and explosions but still retains the humanity of everyone involved thanks to their chemistry This definitely is not like the previous films when this started out because it goes higher and further in many ways being more creative with the car action, leaving an impact on pop culture, and lots of references and callbacks acts to previous films for longtime fans 3 more sequels would follow after reshaping Hollywood’s blockbuster outline while also becoming a billion dollar success Still one of the best movies of 2015 and a true heartfelt farewell to a beloved actor…. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/03/25 Full Review Bruno 2 Best movie of the year, give it watch, but sad because Bryan O'Connor died, not appear on fast and furious 8 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/26/25 Full Review Alfred Junior T It was so dramatic and filled me up with so much suspense and action Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/13/25 Full Review Audience Member Best movie in whole series full of action, Jason Staytam performance was amazing, also R. I. P Paul Walker legends never die Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/11/25 Full Review Lukas C best movie of all time R.I.P. Paul Walker (1973-2013) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/25 Full Review Read all reviews
