Alun Wyn Jones believes Australia will be as dangerous as a "wounded animal" when Wales take on the Wallabies on Saturday at the Millennium Stadium.

Australia suffered their first defeat to Scotland in 27-years on Saturday and drew with Ireland the previous weekend.

But Wales lock Jones is aware that Australia will not want to end their autumn Test series with another defeat.

"They are a proud bunch of players and I'm sure they'll be like a wounded animal," Jones told BBC Wales Sport.

"Australia are no slouches when it comes to international rugby and I'm sure they'll want to bounce back from defeat."

606: DEBATE

Australia dominated territory and possession against Scotland but poor finishing and decent last-ditch defence saw them go down to a 9-8 defeat.

But Jones believes that despite the defeat, Australia showed they are still a dangerous side.

"I guess a lack of cutting edge cost them the game," said Jones.

"I think they took just one of five chances to score. Had they scored one of them, it would have been a different story."

And flanker Martyn Williams even believes that Saturday's Test with Australia in Cardiff will be a tougher encounter than their clash against the world's number one ranked side, New Zealand.

Wales lost that game 12-19 but Williams feels the Wallabies are a sterner proposition.

"You have to give credit to Scotland for a great defensive effort," said Williams

"We know that Australia will be desperate to go home on a high and not with two straight defeats.

"They have class players and I think it's going to be our hardest game defensively as they are great with the ball in their hands and are probably the best in the world."
