tagboat > ABOUT
The background to my desire to be involved in art is "I want to increase the understanding of artists and increase the number of artists who can eat."
When I was little, I was a boy who loved painting. I love reading and drawing manga, and when I was in junior high school, I skipped studying and drew manga, and even after I entered high school, I was asked by people to draw, so I was in college. I was also thinking about going on to art. However, when I told my parents about that story, I was denied from my head that "a painter cannot be eaten."
About thirty years ago, there was almost no Japanese art market, and there were only a few successful painters. Even if I had become a painter by overcoming the opposition of my parents at that time, I now think that it would have been difficult for me to become a professional. I was denied what I wanted to do in high school, but as a result, my parents' opinions were correct and I didn't feel bad about them at all. However, I feel angry at the world and environment that made my parents at that time say, "Don't eat because you can't eat as a painter."
Looking at the Japanese art market since I became involved in the art industry, I remember that the market size was smaller than I expected and it was shocking. In addition, there is a deep-rooted image in Japan that many people, except top-class people, cannot live in the profession of artist or artist. What I strongly believe in running a tugboat is that I want to change this environment.
Currently, tugboats are working to transform the Japanese art industry under the mission of "increasing the value of artists." I would like to increase the value of each artist, convey their charm, and increase the number of people who purchase art, not the thing of art. We would not be so happy if we could enjoy the collection while appreciating the art and increase the number of friends who support the Japanese art world.
TAGBOAT is the contemporary art gallery that utilizes online technology most in the world.
Our goal is not to be the portal site of contemporary art.
Our mission is to enlarge the art market to select high quality arts through our unique viewpoint and sell it with added value.
We aim to make art more familiar and easy to recognize for customers and to eliminate hurdles between customers and art.
We will innovate the art market by the management based on data analysis rather than intuition and experience.
