CABANES (“Ildum”) Castellón, Spain.

Site 26 km N-NE of Castellon de la Plana, with remains of a Roman arch consisting of two columns on a square base and imposts supporting the arch (ht. 5.25 m; w. 4 m). Absence of any inscription and the ruinous condition of the arch preclude knowledge of its purpose and date. Diverse Roman remains have been recorded: coins, ceramics, a milestone (CIL II, 4950), and an inscription (CIL II, 4048) from an unrecorded site.
