Emily Mountsteven was the daughter of General William T. B. Mountsteven.1 She married Sir William Richmond Brown, 2nd Bt., son of Alexander Brown and Sarah Benedict Brown, on 28 May 1862.1 She died on 8 July 1928.1

Sir Melville Richmond Brown, 3rd Bt. was born on 13 October 1866.1 He was the son of Sir William Richmond Brown, 2nd Bt. and Emily Mountsteven.1 He married Lilian Alice Mabel Roussel, daughter of Robert Roussel, on 27 February 1906.1 He and Lilian Alice Mabel Roussel were divorced in 1931.1 He died on 20 February 1944 at age 77, without issue.1
He gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd Battalion, Devonshire Regiment.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Brown, of Richmond Hill, Lancashire [U.K., 1863] on 10 May 1906.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Major in the 3rd Battalion, Devonshire Regiment.1
