     Sir James Colquhoun of Luss, 5th Bt. was born on 20 March 1844.² He was the son of Sir James Colquhoun of Luss, 4th Bt. and Jane Abercromby.² He married, firstly, Charlotte Mary Douglas Monro, daughter of Major William Monro and Elizabeth Abercromby, on 8 December 1875.² He married, secondly, Ivie Muriel Helen Urquhart, daughter of Major Ives McLean Urquhart, on 9 November 1904.² He died on 13 March 1907 at age 62, without male issue.²
     He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)² He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Colquhoun, of Luss [G.B., 1786] on 18 December 1873.² He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Dunbartonshire.²
