     David Boyle, 1st Earl of Glasgow was born in 1666.2 He was the son of John Boyle of Kelburn and Marion Steuart.3 He married, firstly, Margaret Lindsay-Crawford, daughter of Hon. Patrick Crawford and Margaret Crawfurd, on 19 April 1687.3 He married, secondly, Jean Mure, daughter of William Mure of Rowallan, on 16 June 1697.3 He died on 31 October 1733.3
     He was educated at Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, ScotlandG.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bute between 1689 and 1689.3 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in 1697.3 He was created 1st Lord Boyle, of Kelburn, Stewartoun, Finnick, Largs and Dalry [Scotland] on 31 January 1698/99, with a special remainder to all of his heirs male whatsoever.1 He was created 1st Earl of Glasgow [Scotland] on 12 April 1703, with a special remainder to all of his heirs male whatsoever.1 He was created 1st Lord Boyle, of Stewartoun, Cumbraes, Fenwick, Largs and Dalry [Scotland] on 12 April 1703, with a special remainder to all of his heirs male whatsoever.1 He was created 1st Viscount of Kelburn [Scotland] on 12 April 1703, with a special remainder to all of his heirs male whatsoever.1 He was Commissioner for the Union of England and Scotland in 1707.3 He held the office of Representative Peer [Scotland] between 1707 and 1710.3 He lived at Kelburn, Ayrshire, ScotlandG.1

     Lady Mary Johnstone was born on 31 January 1651/52.2 She was the daughter of James Johnstone, 1st Earl of Annandale and Hartfell and Lady Henrietta Douglas.1 She married William Lindsay, 18th Earl of Crawford, son of John Lindsay, 17th Earl of Crawford and Lady Margaret Hamilton, on 8 March 1670.2 She died on 8 April 1681 at age 29.2
     Her married name became Lindsay. After her marriage, Lady Mary Johnstone was styled as Countess of Crawford in 1678.

Margaret Hay.1 He married Lady Mary Douglas, daughter of William Douglas, 7th Earl of Morton and Lady Anne Keith, on 9 November 1632.1 He died circa 11 May 1672.1
     He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Fyvie [S., 1598] on 16 June 1622.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Dunfermline [S., 1605] on 16 June 1622.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)
