     Lt-Col. James Forrest Fulton was born on 11 September 1780 at Lisburn, County Antrim, Ireland.1 He was the son of Richard Fulton and Elizabeth Shanks.1 He married Penelope Francis Bowyer, daughter of Richard Bowyer.1 He died in December 1854 at age 74 at Belgium.1
     He gained the rank of Ensign in 1798 in the Northampton Fencibles.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 92nd Foot.1 He gained the rank of officer in 1801 in the 38th Foot.1 He was Aide-de-Camp to the Governor-General of Canada.1 He gained the rank of Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel in 1815.1 He was appointed Knight, Guelphic Order in 1838.1
