Robert Pringle, 1st of Stichill was born circa 1581.1 He was the son of George Pringle of Craigleith and Janet Pringle.2 He married Catherine Hamilton.1 He died in 1649.1
He held the office of Treasurer Depute [Scotland] in 1613.1 He purchased Stichill in 1628.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Roxburghshire between 1639 and 1641.1 He also had an older daughter.2
