Maria Jane Elliott was the daughter of Charles B. Elliott.1 She married William Paul Barry Brereton, son of Major William Robert Brereton and Catherine King Barry, on 20 June 1877.1 She died on 25 February 1822.1

William Robert Brereton was born on 1 October 1878.1 He was the son of William Paul Barry Brereton and Maria Jane Elliott.2 He died on 31 August 1898 at age 19.1

Robert Brereton was born on 26 October 1844.1 He was the son of Major William Robert Brereton and Catherine King Barry.2 He married Josephine Mary Lynch, daughter of James Matthew Lynch, on 4 February 1874.1 He died on 5 March 1895 at age 50.1
He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 46th Regiment.1 He gained the rank of Adjutant in 1874 in the Royal Brecknock Militia.1 He was a surveyor and topographer for the Denver and Rio Grande Railway between 1881 and 1883.1 He was with British South Africa Company to explore and survey the frontier with German East Africa (now Tanzania) in 1890.1
