     Colonel Francis Crofton Molesworth was born on 26 July 1880 at Weymouth, Dorset, EnglandG.2,3 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Anthony Oliver Molesworth and Anne Elizabeth Smith.2 He married Eileen Denny, daughter of Lt.-Col. Richard Denny and Mary Guppy, on 4 February 1913.1 He died on 27 June 1955 at age 74.1
     He fought in the First World War.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Engineers.1 He fought in the South Persia and Afghan War in 1919, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Astronomical Society (F.R.A.S.)2 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.)2
