Maj.-Gen. Walter Rupert Kenyon-Slaney was born on 25 September 1851.1 He was the son of William Kenyon-Slaney and Frances Catherine Slaney.2 He married Kate Helen Mary Schooles, daughter of H. J. Schooles, on 4 September 1878.1 He died on 26 March 1936 at age 84.1
He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1 He fought in the Boer War in 1902, he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in the Rifle Brigade.1 He fought in the First World War in 1914.1
