     He was given the name of Osmond Elim d'Avigdor at birth.² In May 1896 his name was legally changed to Osmond Elim d'Avigdor-Goldsmid by Royal Licence.² He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)² He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Kent.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Kent.² He held the office of High Sheriff of Kent in 1912.² He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Army Service Corps.² He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1919, where he was mentioned in dispatches twice.² He was created 1st Baronet d'Avigdor-Goldsmid [U.K.] on 22 January 1934.²

     Maj.-Gen. Sir James Arthur d'Avigdor-Goldsmid, 3rd Bt. was born on 19 December 1912.² He was the son of Sir Osmond Elim d'Avigdor-Goldsmid, 1st Bt. and Alice Rose Anna Landau.^1,2 He died on 6 September 1987 at age 74.³
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.² He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.² He fought in the Second World War, where he was wounded.² He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1944.² He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1955.² He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1965.² He gained the rank of Major-General in the 4/7 Royal Dragoon Guards.² He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet d'Avigdor-Goldsmid [U.K., 1934] on 11 December 1976.² On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.

     Elim Henry d'Avigdor was born on 9 March 1841 at Nice, France.² He was the son of Count Salomon Henri d'Avigdor and Rachel Goldsmid.¹ He married Henrietta Matilda Jacobs, daughter of Bethel S. Jacobs and Esther Lyon, in August 1866 at London, England.² He died on 9 February 1895 at age 53 at London, England.²
     He was registered as a Member, Institution of Civil Engineers (M.I.C.E.)²

     Count Salomon Henri d'Avigdor was born on 17 June 1816 at Nice, France.² He married Rachel Goldsmid, daughter of Sir Isaac Lyon Goldsmid, 1st Bt. and Isabel Beila Goldsmid, on 24 June 1840.^1,3 He died on 21 December 1871 at age 55 at Paris, France.²
