Sir Walter Sandys was born circa 1540.1 He was the son of Thomas Sandys, 2nd Baron Sandys and Elizabeth Manners.1 He married Lady Mabel Wriothesley, daughter of Thomas Wriothesley, 1st Earl of Southampton and Jane Cheney.1 He died on 29 August 1609 at Winchester, Hampshire, England.1
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Stockbridge in 1563.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Hampshire from 1576 to 1577.1 He was appointed Knight in 1591.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Hampshire from 1591 to 1592.1
