     Major William Edgar Mann was born on 19 January 1885.1 He was the son of Sir Edward Mann, 1st Bt. and Anna Jane Bell.2 He married Sarah Douglas Sprot, daughter of Sir Alexander Sprot, 1st Bt. and Ethel Florence Thorp, on 9 July 1913.1 He died on 14 February 1969 at age 84.3
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches and was wounded twice.3 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1917.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Field Artillery.3

     Sir Edward Mann, 1st Bt. was born on 2 March 1854.1 He was the son of Thomas Mann and Fanny Spence.2 He married Anna Jane Bell, daughter of Paul Bell, on 20 April 1882.1 He died on 29 September 1943 at age 89.1
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Norfolk.1 He held the office of Mayor of Stepney between 1900 and 1901.1 He was created 1st Baronet Mann, of Thelveton Hall, Thelveton, co. Norfolk [U.K.] on 29 December 1905.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Norfolk in 1909.1
